Chinese Ambassador to Malta Zhang Zuo and Wife Attend President’s Luncheon

On October 8, 2025, H.E. Ambassador Zhang Zuo and his wife were invited to a luncheon hosted by the President of Malta in welcome of the new ambassadors. Over 30 representatives from the Maltese government, political parties, and business communities, as well as envoys presenting their credentials on the same day, attended the event. During the luncheon, H.E. President Spiteri Debono and H.E. Ambassador Zhang Zuo made their toasts and exchanged views on China-Malta, China-EU relations, and issues of mutual concern.

H.E. President Spiteri Debono stated that Malta has always supported the international system with the United Nations at its core and the rules-based international order, and actively plays a role in international and regional affairs. Malta looks forward to working with China and other countries to make greater contributions to maintaining world peace and regional security and stability.

H.E. Ambassador Zhang Zuo stated that H.E. President Xi Jinping has consistently followed and supported the development of China- Malta bilateral relations, and together with H.E. Madam President, provided important guidance for deepening China-Malta friendship. China is ready to work with Malta to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepen political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, promote people-to-people bonds, and develop China-Malta relations, and jointly make positive efforts for world peace and development.
