City of Broken Arrow reopening Events Park

The City of Broken Arrow's premier 125-acre venue, Events Park, has officially reopened to host events.

Events Park, 21101 E. 101st St. in east Broken Arrow, has been closed for major events since May 27, 2024, to facilitate the construction and infrastructure improvements needed to bring the Sunset Amphitheater Broken Arrow to the city. The 12,500-seat Sunset Amphitheater Broken Arrow is expected to open in the fall of 2026.

"It is an exciting time in Broken Arrow and it's my pleasure to welcome people back to the wide-open spaces of Events Park!" said City Manager Michael Spurgeon. "We've completed major improvements to the roadways inside and outside of the park, added an Oklahoma Turnpike Authority onramp from inside the park, improved the parking, added a pedestrian bridge, walking paths, and improved the park's landscaping and lighting all as a part of the agreement with Venu for the Sunset Amphitheater Broken Arrow project."

Spurgeon said though the park improvements were initially made to facilitate the amphitheater's traffic and enhance the concert experience, these types of improvements will make the park an even better experience for the thousands of people who visit it every year for a variety of other events such as Broken Arrow's signature event-Scotfest which returns to Events Park in September.

In addition to Scotfest, three other events are already scheduled to be held at Events Park in the coming months.

  • Water Lantern Festival, Saturday, May 9, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • Fishing Derby, Saturday, June 6, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for Oklahoma Free Fishing weekend.
  • Kites Festival, Sunday, Sept. 13, 10 a.m.
  • Scotfest, Friday, Sept. 18, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Scotfest, Saturday, Sept. 19, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Scotfest, Sunday, Sept. 20, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Events Park is located just east of the Northeastern State University Broken Arrow campus and the Creek Turnpike. The park offers a fishing pond, picnic shelters, a playground, open space, restrooms, and the Challenger Sports Complex.
