Telephone conversation with President Erdoğan of Türkiye

As part of her ongoing contacts with key partners on the crisis in the Middle East, the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

President Meloni first of all expressed her solidarity and closeness to Türkiye, a strategic partner of Italy and a NATO ally, after it was the target of an unjustifiable missile attack.

President Meloni and President Erdoğan then had an exchange of views on developments in the regional situation - based also on the conversations President Meloni has had with various Middle Eastern players over the last few days - and on the global impact of the crisis.
The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact.
