Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong Meets with Pakistani Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi

Sun Weidong noted that the year 2026 marks both the first year of China's 15th Five-Year Plan period and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Pakistan. China is committed to promoting high-quality development and implementing high-standard opening up, providing important stability and certainty to the international community. China and Pakistan are good neighbors, good friends, good partners, and good brothers. China always takes Pakistan as a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy. China stands ready to work with Pakistan to implement the important common understandings reached between the leaders of the two countries, share opportunities, jointly promote development, pursue peace, and accelerate the building of a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future.

Khalil Hashmi congratulated China on the convening of the Two Sessions and noted that with China's rapid socioeconomic development and growing innovation capabilities, China will make new brilliant achievements during the 15th Five-Year Plan period and bring more development opportunities to the rest of the world. Pakistan-China friendship has grown even stronger with time. Pakistan stands ready to maintain high-level exchanges with China, foster greater synergy of their development strategies and planning, strengthen practical cooperation, and continuously deepen and solidify the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.
