Teens Suspected in Two Separate Shootings Arrested

TITANS Unit detectives Tuesday arrested two teen shooting suspects, ages 15 and 16, who are charged in Juvenile Court for their involvement in two separate cases: One on January 4 outside 2 University Court in which a 21-year-old man was shot in the leg and the second on December 21 in an alley at 145 University Court where a 29-year-old man was shot in the abdomen.

Investigation by Non-Lethal Shooting detectives resulted in the identification of the 16-year-old for the December shooting that may have stemmed from an earlier dispute. The 15-year-old was with the suspect at the time of his arrest yesterday and had an active runaway juvenile petition. During an interview, the 15-year-old admitted to being the shooter in the January 4 case. He said he fired shots during an argument. The victim appears to have been struck by stray gunfire.

The 15-year-old's arrest history beginning in November 2022 reflects charges for aggravated robbery, vehicle theft, burglary of a motor vehicle, and assault.

The 16-year-old's arrest history beginning in December 2022 reflects charges for robbery, aggravated assault, and juvenile handgun possession.
