City Launches New Video Podcast, Inside Goodyear

The city of Goodyear has launched a brand-new video podcast, Inside Goodyear, giving residents a closer look at the people, places and events shaping one of the fastest growing cities in the country. The debut episode, Oktoberfest Lands Back in Goodyear, is now available for download and highlights the highly anticipated return of the Goodyear Oktoberfest Oct. 25 at the Phoenix Goodyear Airport.

Hear from event organizers Toby Ahmling and David Storch as they share the history of Oktoberfest, how the event in Goodyear first got started, why it went away, and how it's making a comeback this year. Plus, discover the unique connection between German aviation and the Phoenix Goodyear Airport that makes this celebration especially fitting for the Goodyear community.

"The German Air Force and Lufthansa Airlines train at the airport in Goodyear, and Oktoberfest is so in our blood as Germans, that an Oktoberfest festival was created in Goodyear in 1990," said Toby Ahmling. "It started very small, just a few friends and family, and has grown over the years into what it is now."
