Certified Nursing Assistant Students Recognized for Completing Training Program

Three dozen Western Nevada College certified nursing assistant (CNA) students were recognized on May 13 in Carson Nugget Hall.

The 36 students completed the college's CNA training course, preparing them to take the CNA certification exam from the Nevada State Board of Nursing.

"Completing the CNA program is an important milestone and the beginning of a meaningful journey in healthcare," said Western Nevada College President Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe. "These students have demonstrated compassion, dedication and a commitment to serving others through their hard work and training. We are proud of their accomplishments and grateful to our outstanding faculty and staff who continue preparing skilled healthcare professionals for our communities."

Several students were presented with special recognition awards: Receiving the Associated Students of Western Nevada CNA of the Year Award was Tristan Ernst Karkheck. Recipients of the Clinical Excellence Award were Gretchen Pachak, Lily Kersey and Paige Frey.

Congratulations to the following students for their hard work and a great beginning to their journey in healthcare: Shelby Jean Arnaud, Febbie Asun Breitweiser, Shivani Bhakta, Aubrey Shea DeAloia, Desiree Elizabeth Diaz, Riley Shea Draper, Paige Frey, Noreen Galindo, Erendira Gallegos Vargas, Emma Theresa Garber, Dulce Maria Garcia Hernandez, Katelen Mae Marie Helton, Emily Hernandez, Xavier Hines, Tristan Ernst Karkheck, Lily Ella Kersey, Sidney Anne King, Riley Kolsch, Joshua Lampano, Theresa Lyon, Ally Sue Metoxen, Leticia Morales, Amyah Neamo, Paulina Nunez, Delfa Olivas Rugama, Owen Orvald, Gretchen Rose Pachak, Dianna Nazaret Piedra Velasco, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Samaniego, Anaili Bianca Sandoval, Eanna Santiago, Riley Marie Sellars, Kaylee Thompson, Erich Mathew Thomas, Brynne Meadow Wilcox and Madison Page Woodman-Hobbs.

"I am very proud of our nursing assistants for completing their program and choosing a career dedicated to serving and caring for others," said WNC Amber Price, Nursing faculty member. "I hope they continue to grow in their careers, always remaining compassionate, kind, and committed to lifelong learning."
