The City of Napa is set to impress the community with an extraordinary 4th of July celebration, featuring the largest drone show in Northern California. Returning after hosting the very first drone display in Napa last July 4th, this year's show promises to be innovative with all new content, environmentally-friendly and fun event for all residents and pets to enjoy.
The dazzling drone showcase, presented by Sky Elements, will illuminate the night sky with a choreographed display of 400 drones above the Pearl and West Street parking lot. This area will be off-limits for the audience and spectators can observe from various optimal vantage points, including Oxbow Commons, the First and Third Street Bridge sidewalks, Veterans Memorial Park, and the Riverfront Promenade. Additional amplified sound will be provided at these locations as well. This year the entire Lot "X" parking lot will be closed for the entire day to allow for the drone show set up. In addition, Pearl Street between Soscol Avenue and Main Street will be close approximately 1 hour before the drone show starts (or 8:30pm).
"Following the enthusiastic response to last year's drone show, we're proud to bring it back with an all-new display for this year's 4th of July," said Mayor Scott Sedgley. "It's a modern, climate-friendly tradition that offers a spectacular and inclusive way for our entire community to celebrate-especially those sensitive to the impacts of traditional fireworks."
The day's celebrations will commence with the annual Napa 4th of July Parade, presented by the Napa Sunrise Rotary at 9:30 a.m. along 2nd and 3rd Streets downtown Napa. The festivities will continue at Oxbow Commons from 3-10 p.m., with live music, a food and drink court and a lively kids' zone from 3-8 p.m. featuring inflatables, carnival games and entertainment.
Attendees can groove to live music with of Patrón from 4-6:30pm and Wonder Bread 5 from 7-9:30pm on the Main Stage. A special "Salute to America" segment will also take place from 8:00 to 8:25 p.m., paying tribute to the nation's independence.
"Last year's drone show set a new standard for how we celebrate Independence Day in Napa," said City Manager Steve Potter. "We're excited to build on that success with fresh, innovative content that continues to reflect our environmental values while making sure everyone can enjoy the holiday safely and comfortably."
This event is just one of many that the Napa Parks & Recreation Department organizes each year, providing family-friendly fun for locals and visitors alike.
