In April of 2024, the Winnipeg Police Service was contacted regarding an incident of Fraud which occurred at a commercial business in the 900 block of Powell Avenue.
The Financial Crime Unit assumed a lengthy investigation where a female suspect was identified.
It was learned through investigation that between May 2023 and April 2024, a female employee used her position to financially enrich herself by fraudulently stealing approximately $95,000, garnered through forged invoices and receipts, which she then deposited into her personal bank account.
On April 23, 2025, the suspect turned herself in to investigators at Police Headquarters and was arrested without incident.
A 47-year-old female, from Winnipeg is facing a charge of Fraud Over $5,000 and Use a Forged Document.
She was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
