Street Racer Initiative Leads to Three Arrests & Recovery of 2 Guns

A Street Racer Initiative Saturday night into early Sunday morning resulted in the arrest of three men in separate incidents.
Jason Linares, 18, is charged with drag racing, evading arrest, leaving the scene of an accident, theft, and driving on a revoked license after he was seen driving a white Infiniti with a black hood in excess of 90 m.p.h. on Bell Road. The speed limit is 40 m.p.h. He appeared to be racing a black sedan. An MNPD police helicopter followed the Infiniti. Officers on the ground successfully deployed spike strips at the intersection of Reynolds Road and Smith Springs Road. Linares turned right onto Smith Springs Road and ran a red light before running off the road into a ditch. Linares and three passengers fled from the Infiniti, through a wooded area, into an apartment complex where they were detained. A pistol and stolen tag were recovered from the vehicle. An AR-15 was found in the woods. Linares admitted to driving the car and said he did not know the driver of the black sedan. Two of the three passengers were issued misdemeanor state citations. The third was released without charges. Linares is free on $50,000 bond.
Mondrikus Hamilton, 28, is charged with evading arrest, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, and misdemeanor marijuana possession after officers saw him driving a two-door coupe with the headlights turned off on Trousdale Lane. He swerved into oncoming traffic, nearly colliding with a police vehicle, before fleeing at a high rate of speed. He continued southbound on Trousdale Lane and struck another vehicle. He fled on foot to a nearby gas station where he was taken into custody. He is free on $16,000 bond.
Michael Brice, 20, was taken into custody on an outstanding aggravated assault warrant during a traffic stop. He was wanted for a November 2024 assault in which he is accused of pointing a gun at a juvenile female and pulling the trigger after an argument. When the gun did not fire, he allegedly struck her with the weapon. He is free on $25,000 bond.
Enforcement activity during the initiative included 17 traffic stops with ten warnings and two violations (five fled from officers). Two vehicles were towed and five misdemeanor citations were issued.
The MNPD Traffic Division is committed to continuing its investigations into street racer groups that are causing damage and harm through their dangerous driving.
