Senator Justice Visits Marshall Health Network – Rivers Health, Highlights Major Rural Healthcare Investments for West Virginia

POINT PLEASANT, WV - Today, Senator Jim Justice visited Marshall Health Network - Rivers Health to highlight major new investments, including nearly $200 million coming to the state through the Rural Health Transformation Program:

"Being here at Rivers Health puts it all into perspective. I know firsthand the challenges rural hospitals face, and that's why I worked hand-in-hand with my Senate Republican colleagues to make sure this $200 million in funding was included. Rural hospitals like this one are the lifeblood of our communities, and this investment is going to make a real difference for both our patients and providers in West Virginia," said Senator Jim Justice.

"Continued investments in rural health ensure our communities have access to timely, high-quality care close to home,"said Scott Raynes, president and CEO of Marshall Health Network. "The expanded and renovated emergency department will strengthen emergency care for residents of Mason County and surrounding communities, while positioning Rivers Health to meet anticipated growth in the region. We at Marshall Health Network want to thank Sen. Justice and all of our federal representatives for their continued focus on helping our state's rural hospitals."

The Rural Health Transformation Program Investment allows West Virginia to:

  • Attract and maintain healthcare providers in rural areas and regions facing shortages of medical professionals.
  • Provide education on emerging technologies to enhance healthcare accessibility.
  • Create initiatives that promote new approaches to patient care.
  • Expand availability of services for substance abuse treatment and behavioral health support.
