Animal Humane New Mexico and Helping Other People Everyday Named as Recipients of $5,000 Grants
Irving, TX (June 19, 2026) - Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXST), today announced that the Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation is making a $5,000 contribution to both Animal Humane New Mexico and Helping Other People Everyday as part of the company's "30 Days of Giving" initiative, a month-long program recognizing and supporting nonprofit and charitable organizations serving communities across Nexstar's nationwide footprint.
"30 Days of Giving" is an employee-driven initiative created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Nexstar's founding in June 1996. Locally-led committees reviewed submissions from Nexstar's 13,000 employees and selected charitable and nonprofit organizations to nominate for grants. More than 100 organizations were nominated, and the Nexstar Charitable Foundation's Board of Directors chose 60 to receive $5,000 each. Every day during the month of June, the Foundation will award two $5,000 grants; by the end of the month the Foundation will have committed $300,000 to "30 Days of Giving."
The Foundation today recognized Animal Humane New Mexico and Helping Other People Everyday as recipients of $5,000 grants. The organizations were nominated by employees at KRQE-TV, the Nexstar television station serving Albuquerque, NM, and WFFF/WVNY-TV in Burlington, VT, respectively.
Animal Humane New Mexico (AHNM) is the state's leading animal welfare organization helping more than 10,000 at-risk, homeless dogs and cats each year. Since 2010, it has re-homed 100% of healthy pets in its care through services like sheltering, adoption, humane education, and veterinary services.
AHNM also provides affordable services for income-qualified clients, such as vaccinations, microchipping, and spay/neuter clinics. It also offers behavior support and solutions, community education on animal welfare, and helps pet owners find pet-friendly housing by compiling information from local rental properties regarding pet policies, fees, and restrictions. To help keep pets in their homes, the organization distributes more than 420,000 free pet meals annually to families.
"Animal Humane New Mexico represents the very best of our community-people who dedicate themselves every day to caring for vulnerable animals and helping families throughout our state," said Jeff Miller, Vice President and General Manager of KRQE-TV in Albuquerque, NM. "Nexstar's '30 Days of Giving' celebrates organizations that quietly change lives and communities for the better every day, and it's that same heart for community that continues to drive everything we do through KRQE CARES."
Commenting on his nomination of Animal Humane New Mexico, KRQE-TV News Producer Eli Crow said: "I nominated Animal Humane New Mexico because of the incredible impact they have on animals and families across our state. Every day they provide care, shelter, adoption services, and second chances for animals in need. Their work often happens behind the scenes, but the difference they make in our community is extraordinary."

Helping Other People Everyday (H.O.P.E.) offers a wide array of programs that provide essential support for families and individuals in need. Through its thrift store, which helps fund its programs, H.O.P.E. serves those facing homelessness and food insecurity, as well as survivors of natural disasters, domestic violence, and home fires, with food, clothing, household items, diapers, and emergency supplies.
H.O.P.E.'s Miscellaneous Voucher Program enables teachers and other education professionals to receive clothing and essential items for their classrooms or students, while its Princess Project provides prom dresses and tuxedos to 90-100 students each year. The Backpack Program provides 150 students from 10 local schools eight meals for the weekend and snacks for the week. Plus, for the first weeks of school, elementary and high school students who participate in the Backpack Program also receive new or gently used school supplies. H.O.P.E. has distributed more than 25,000 food-filled backpacks to children experiencing food insecurity.
Commenting on his nomination of H.O.P.E., WFFF/WVNY-TV Assistant News Director, Christian Plaud, said: "Going to college in the rural Northeast Kingdom area of Vermont, there wasn't a day that went by without you hearing about H.O.P.E. and all the good they do for the community. I'm honored that Nexstar chose H.O.P.E. for its '30 Days of Giving' and thrilled knowing that the grant will help so many in need."
"When Christian told me about all of the help HOPE gives to those in the Lyndonville area, I knew we had submitted the right cause," said Tina Castano, Vice President and General Manager. "We're happy that the Nexstar Charitable Foundation chose an organization that is doing so much for our local community."
