WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the House Foreign Affairs Committee unanimously voted to advance the Developing Overseas Mineral Investments and New Allied Networks for Critical Energies (DOMINANCE) Act, bipartisan legislation introduced by Representatives Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-06) and Young Kim (CA-40) to strengthen U.S. energy security, reduce reliance on the People's Republic of China (PRC) for critical minerals, and build more resilient supply chains with trusted allies and partners.
"Critical minerals power everything from our defense industrial base to the advanced technologies that drive our economy, yet the PRC continues to maintain an alarming chokehold over the global critical mineral supply chain," said Representative Bera. "I'm proud to partner with Congresswoman Young Kim on this effort to align diplomatic and financing tools in cooperation with our allies and partners to build secure and resilient critical mineral supply chains that will support American competitiveness and strengthen our national security for decades to come."
Specifically, the DOMINANCE Act advances U.S. energy and critical minerals leadership by:
Organizations supporting the DOMINANCE Act include: American Council for Capital Formation (ACCF), American Critical Minerals Association (ACMA), American Energy Leadership Institute (AELI), Atlantic Council, Bipartisan Policy Center Action (BPC Action), ClearPath Action, Climate Leadership Council, DZYNE Technologies, Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), Newmont, Progressive Policy Institute, SAFE's Center for Critical Minerals Strategy, Third Way, and US-ASEAN Business Council.
