HIV Survivors Conference This Weekend

CDPH, along with The Reunion Project and in partnership with the National Working Positive Coalition and Loyola University School of Social Work, is sponsoring "Honoring the Past, Claiming Our Future," a conference of long-term survivors of HIV on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 27 and 28, at Loyola University. The two-day conference will be held from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Loyola's Kasbeer Hall, 25 E. Pearson St.

Activities on both days will include sessions and community discussions addressing the health, wellness, quality of life, and employment concerns of individuals living in the Chicago area. This is an opportunity for long-term HIV survivors and allies to join and heal with community.

Day One will feature an employment forum, with sessions exploring strategies and experiences of community members related to employment. There will be opportunities to talk one-on-one with representatives from vital Chicago and statewide programs and resources.

Day Two will connect HIV long-term survivors through story-telling and informative workshops, as attendees learn how to live and age well with HIV.

The event is free to attend. Visit http://bit.ly/trpchicago2026 to register.
