Baker Donelson's Charles K. Grant Named Inaugural Circle of Justice Honoree by Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands

Charles K. Grant of the national law firm Baker Donelson has been named a member of the inaugural Circle of Justice class by the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands. The Circle of Justice is the organization's highest recognition and honors individuals whose leadership and service have helped advance the pursuit of justice throughout Middle Tennessee.

Mr. Grant was recognized during the Legal Aid Society's "An Evening at GEODIS Park" celebration on October 3. According to the organization, Circle of Justice honorees are selected for their lasting contributions to expanding access to legal services and strengthening the justice system for individuals and families who otherwise might not be able to obtain legal representation.

A shareholder in Baker Donelson's Nashville office, Mr. Grant is a trial lawyer whose practice focuses on complex employment litigation, business disputes, whistleblower claims, and civil rights matters. He has tried more than 50 jury trials to verdict in federal and state courts and represents clients throughout the country in litigation, mediation, and arbitration proceedings.

"Access to justice depends on lawyers who are willing to use their skills in service of their communities. My work with the Legal Aid Society has allowed me to meet individuals whose lives were changed simply because they had someone to help them navigate the legal system," Mr. Grant said. "I am grateful to have worked alongside dedicated Legal Aid staff, volunteers, and community partners who make that work possible."

Mr. Grant is a graduate of Washington and Lee University School of Law and has been recognized throughout his career for both professional achievement and public service. He previously served as president of the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands from 2018 - 2020, following service as first vice president from 2016 - 2018. His honors include the Nashville Bar Association's John C. Tune Public Service Award, the Tennessee Bar Association's Harris Gilbert Pro Bono Award, Baker Donelson's Firm-wide Pro Bono Attorney of the Year recognition, and numerous other distinctions for community leadership and legal service. He has also been listed in The Best Lawyers in America® for Employment Law - Litigation and Employment Law - Management (2014 - 2027) and Commercial Litigation (2019 - 2027), and he has been recognized in Mid-South Super Lawyers for Employment Litigation Defense since 2006.
