Maine Democratic Party Vice Chair Julian Rogers released the following statement:
"Serving as the Vice Chair of the Maine Democratic Party has been an incredible honor and an unforgettable experience. For the past two years, I have had the opportunity to travel across the state and meet Democrats from every county and community in Maine. The more parts of Maine I see, and the more Mainers I meet, the more I am in awe of the amazing variety of people who have dedicated themselves to the important and hard work of building relationships, community, and activism.
"I have made the difficult personal decision to step away from Maine Democratic Party leadership, and have been elected to resume my role as Vice Chair on MDP's permanent committee on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging. I am forever grateful to our exceptional Maine Democratic Party staff and my friend, MDP Chair Bev Uhlenhake for their dedication and support. The Maine Democratic Party has built a powerful bench of diverse, talented, young leaders serving in their neighborhoods, schools, towns, and local Democratic committees. I look forward to seeing these Democratic leaders step forward to run for elected office and Party leadership in 2026 and beyond."
