Head of the Chinese Mission to the African Union Ambassador Jiang Feng Pays a Courtesy Call on Permanent Representative of Egypt to the AU

On 6 August, Amb. Jiang Feng, Head of the Mission of China to the African Union, paid a courtesy call on Amb. Mohamed Omar Gad, Permanent Representative of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the AU.

Amb. Jiang said that China and Egypt are comprehensive strategic partners. China is willing to work with Egypt and Africa to strengthen coordination, further enhance the influence of the Global South, and inject more certainty into this turbulent world. Yesterday, Special Envoy Zhai Jun of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue had a group meeting with diplomatic envoys of Arab countries to China, reclaimed China's position to stand firmly with the Palestinian people and on the side of fairness and justice.

Amb. Gad warmly welcomed Amb. Jiang's assumption of his new post, stating that China has always been Africa's most reliable partner. Egypt and Africa highly appreciate China's adherence to the principle of non-interference in internal affairs and express gratitude for China's strong support in advancing Africa's integration and the realization of the Agenda 2063. Egypt stands ready to maintain close communication and coordination with the Chinese Mission to safeguard the common interests of developing countries and the Global South. He reclaimed that Egypt firmly adheres to the one-China principle.
