WASHINGTON, D.C.- Senator Ashley Moody applauded the Senate Judiciary Committee's passage of the NO FAKES Act, legislation she cosponsored to protect Americans from having their voice and image stolen and used in unauthorized AI generated digital replicas, commonly known as deepfakes.
"No one should have their voice, image, or likeness stolen and used in a fake video or AI-generated deepfake without their consent. With artificial intelligence advancing at a rapid pace, it is becoming harder for people to know what is real and what is not. As a former Attorney General, I know predators will use any tool to target and deceive victims, and the NO FAKES Act gives Americans a way to fight back and hold scammers accountable. I am proud to be an original cosponsor of this important legislation to protect Americans and applaud my colleagues for advancing it out of committee today," saidSenator Ashley Moody.
