DALLAS - Jack Lowe Sr. Elementary School will open its first Good For You Healthy Hub pantry to provide fresh produce and groceries at no cost to families. Made possible through a five-year grant from TDIndustries and Texas Health Resources, the pantry will serve 150 families. Media is invited to the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the campus.

Hispanic heritage celebration
Students at John F. Peeler Elementary School will celebrate their Hispanic heritage through a vibrant folklórico showcase featuring traditional dance and music. The performance will take place at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 15.

Families are invited to attend Dallas ISD's Discover event at 9 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Automobile Building in Fair Park. The event gives parents and students the chance to explore the district's many choice, application-based, and Legacy schools - each designed to help every student find their perfect fit. Families are encouraged to meet with school representatives and learn more about programs such as dual language, Montessori, magnet, STEM/STEAM, International Baccalaureate, and more.
