Commerce Statement on Application Conclusion, Next Steps of the American AI Exports Program

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration (ITA) today released the following update regarding the American AI Exports Program:

"ITA thanks the numerous companies that formed consortia to submit 78 applications to export full-stack AI technology globally under the American AI Exports Program. Applicants submitted full-stack AI export packages, which include hardware, data, models, cybersecurity, and sector-specific applications for designation as U.S. Government-supported export packages.

"Each application will be fully reviewed and processed based on previously published Program criteria. Following interagency consultation, the Secretary of Commerce will issue final designation determinations. Designated packages will receive coordinated federal support for exports of American AI systems in foreign markets, which may include priority government advocacy, federal financing access, and expedited export licensing review.

"The American AI Exports Program implements the President's directive to organize and promote export-ready, end-to-end AI systems that integrate U.S. technology across the full value chain - from compute infrastructure to applications - while ensuring alignment with U.S. national security and foreign policy objectives.
