What if PepsiCo changed its name to Lay's-Co? Or Cheetos-Co? Maybe Gatorade-Co, or Quaker-Co?
That's the playful question at the heart of House of Brands, PepsiCo's first-ever corporate brand campaign.
No, we're not changing our name. But the debate points to a bigger truth: While many people know and love our brands, fewer know the company behind them.
In fact, only 18% of people associate PepsiCo with brands beyond Pepsi.
That gap presents an opportunity to tell a broader story about PepsiCo and our portfolio of brands - a portfolio that reaches consumers more than one billion times a day around the world.
House of Brands is the latest step to help consumers connect the company with the more than 500 brands they know and love. Like any family, our brands have distinct personalities, loyal fans and even a little friendly rivalry - from iconic names like Doritos, Cheetos, Lay's, Gatorade and Quaker, to newer offerings like Alvalle, Good Warrior, poppi, Simply NKD and Pepsi Prebiotic Cola.
The campaign builds on our refreshed corporate visual identity, increased visibility across packaging and advertising, and partnerships like the Super Bowl and Formula 1, telling a more complete PepsiCo story, while bringing associates together around the collective strength of One PepsiCo.
Most importantly, it helps people understand the scale and strength of PepsiCo's portfolio.
Building that understanding isn't simply about raising awareness of PepsiCo. It's about helping people connect the many ways our brands show up across categories, occasions and markets under one company.
So, while Lay's, Gatorade, Quaker and Cheetos may each believe they deserve top billing, that's ultimately the point. Our story is bigger than any single brand. It's the collective strength of hundreds of brands, together under one roof.
We are PepsiCo.
Food. Drinks. Smiles.
