Submissions open for student-run art show, 'Derivative.'

All Western students are invited to apply to exhibit their artwork in the student-run art show "Derivative," a senior project by Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies student Annika Spykerman.

Artists will create art in response to or representing their favorite media, such as an anime, TV show, movie(s), podcast, book, or video game. The following art forms are accepted: digital painting or drawing, traditional drawing, painting, photograph, 2D fiber art. Artists will submit their art as a .jpg or .png, minimum of 90 DPI, along with a 50-150 word artist statement.

The deadline for submissions is March 20. One submission per person, only 30 will be selected for the final show. Artists will be informed of their selection through email. Once they have been selected, artists are required to submit their work in person as a print, unless it's already on canvas or fabric in which case you may submit as is. All physical works turned in must be no smaller than 8x8 inches. Drop off location, date, and time TBD.

The show is set to be in April, but the exact date and location are TBD. Updates will be given to participants through email.
