Congressman Flood Opposes Measure Undermining U.S. Trade Negotiations with Canada

WASHINGTON, D.C. -Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood released the following statement after the House of Representatives voted on H.J. Res. 72.
"In his first term in office, President Trump successfully used tariffs to deliver trade deals for the American people that expanded market access. The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) is up for renegotiation this year and Congress should not undermine the President's negotiating position as the review period draws close. I believe that President Trump can deliver an even better deal in the end just as he did with USMCA in 2018."
