Deborah Heart and Lung Center Performs First Transcatheter Tricuspid Valve Replacement Using EVOQUE System

Browns Mills, NJ - Deborah Heart and Lung Center successfully completed its first transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement (TTVR) procedure using the innovative Edwards EVOQUE Tricuspid Valve Replacement System - marking a major advancement in minimally invasive cardiac care at the hospital.

The procedure was performed on a patient with tricuspid valve disease, a condition in which the valve between the right atrium and right ventricle of the heart does not function properly, causing blood to flow backward. The EVOQUE system, made from cow tissue and supported by a self-expanding nickel-titanium frame, allows physicians to replace the valve without the need for open-heart surgery, significantly reducing recovery time and procedural risk.

Interventional cardiologist Muhammad Raza, MD, led the procedure. "This is an exciting moment for our team and for the future of structural heart care," said Dr. Raza. "The EVOQUE system offers a less invasive solution for patients who are not good candidates for traditional surgery. We're proud to bring this level of innovation to our patients."

Deborah Heart and Lung Center remains committed to providing state-of-the-art cardiovascular care with compassion and excellence.
