Overnight mill and overlay pavement maintenance scheduled for Old Highway 63, July 24-31

(COLUMBIA, MO) - Beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, July 24, overnight mill and overlay pavement maintenance will take place on Old Highway 63 between Business Loop 70 and Grindstone Parkway. Capital Paving, contractor for the City of Columbia Public Works department, will perform the work.

During the project, crews will mill away the worn top layer of asphalt and pave a new asphalt surface to improve the condition of the roadway.

Crews will work nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The project will begin on Old Highway 63 South near Chinaberry Drive and progress north toward Monroe Street. Work is expected to be completed by 7 a.m. Friday, July 31, weather permitting.

Temporary lane closures will be necessary while crews are working. Traffic control signs and flaggers will guide motorists through the work zones as needed. Drivers should use caution and consider alternate routes when possible.
