WASHINGTON D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL) issued the following statement on President Trump's Joint Address to the American people.

"I've heard directly from my constituents who are scared. They're worried about their next meal and whether they'll be able to see their doctor. They're worried about if they'll be able to retire with dignity. They're worried about the sky-rocketing cost of living and the price of groceries.

"Last night, none of their concerns were alleviated - and some are even more worried. The continued deafening silence from House Republicans makes me wonder if they even understand what so many Americans are feeling right now."
