02/02/2026—Date Set for 2026 State of the Judiciary

Atlanta, February 2, 2026 - Supreme Court of Georgia Chief Justice Nels S.D. Peterson is scheduled to deliver the State of the Judiciary address to the Georgia General Assembly on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m. Eastern.

Chief Justice Peterson will update legislators on a variety of topics, with a focus on the importance of an independent judiciary and preserving the rule of law.

The speech to the joint session of the House and Senate will take place in the House Chambers of the Capitol. The speech will be live streamed by Georgia Public Broadcasting and the Georgia General Assembly as well as shared on the Supreme Court's website at gasupreme.us.
