Dr. Jacob Carter Joins National Wildlife Federation as Associate Vice President of Environmental Justice

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The National Wildlife Federation announced that Dr. Jacob Carter will serve as the associate vice president of environmental justice, health, and community resilience and revitalization program. Carter will play a critical role in helping shape the direction and impact of the organization's environmental justice program, building key partnerships while overseeing programmatic and operational activities.

"We are beyond thrilled to welcome Dr. Carter to the National Wildlife Federation," said Dr. Adrienne Hollis, vice president of environmental justice, health, and community resilience and revitalization at the National Wildlife Federation. "His commitment to advancing environmental justice and his experience in science-based policy is exactly the kind of leadership and experience that will help deepen our efforts to support communities experiencing environmental harm."

"I'm excited to join the National Wildlife Federation and help advance environmental justice at the grassroots and policy level," Carter said. "Across the country, communities are watching decades of progress threatened by short-sighted decisions. This is a moment to defend not just our environment, but the fact that every community deserves a voice in shaping a healthy, sustainable future. I am looking forward to being more involved in this critical work at the National Wildlife Federation."

Most recently, Dr. Carter served as Research and Evaluation Manager at Ripple Effect Communications and has prior experience working at Union for Concerned Scientists and the Environmental Protection Agency. He received his Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from University of Kansas, his M.S. in Biology from Kansas State University, and his B.S. in Biology from the University of Central Arkansas.
