The 10th annual Stony Brook University Three Minute Thesis (3MT) and Postdoc Spotlight competition is being held on Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 3 pm in the Student Activities Center Auditorium. The competition is an inspiring showcase where doctoral students and postdoctoral scholars from diverse disciplines transform complex research into engaging, on-stage presentations.

This year will feature 13 graduate students competing in 3MT and 10 postdocs competing in Postdoc Spotlight after spending the past month undergoing coaching from research communication experts grounded in techniques from the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science. Competitors will have the opportunity to captivate the audience by making their research vivid and engaging while emphasizing its key points without jargon or distortion. Students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members are all invited to experience the excitement as competitors captivate their audience in just three minutes.
