Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu Has a Group Meeting with Diplomatic Envoys of GCC Countries in China

On March 11, 2026, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu had a group meeting with the diplomatic envoys of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in China.

Ambassador of Bahrain to China, Dr. Mohammed Ghassan Mohammed Adnan Shaikho, speaking on behalf of the GCC side, briefed on the regional situation and the stance of GCC. He emphasized that the GCC will take all necessary measures to safeguard national security, territorial integrity, and the safety of its people. The GCC expressed appreciation for China's position and efforts, and looks forward to working with China to make further contributions to de-escalating the situation and restoring peace.

Miao Deyu elaborated on China's principled position regarding the Iran situation, emphasizing that China opposes military strikes against sovereign states without UN Security Council authorization and condemns any attacks on innocent civilians and non-military targets. The Chinese side understands and supports for the efforts of GCC countries to safeguard their own sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, commends the GCC nations for their calm response amidst the conflict and their commitment to resolving issues through dialogue and negotiation. China stands ready to strengthen communication with the GCC side and work together to promote a ceasefire, halt hostilities, and prevent further escalation of the situation.
