Increased inventories pressure Natural Gas futures.

March Natural Gas futures closed down 0.86% despite a significant storage draw. The EIA natural gas storage report revealed a net decrease of 144 billion cubic feet, bringing total working gas in storage to 2.07 trillion cubic feet. Inventories currently sit 59 billion cubic feet below year-ago levels and 123 billion cubic feet under the five-year average of 2.193 trillion cubic feet. While demand is expected to remain low for the next two days due to warmer temperatures in the eastern two-thirds of the U.S., a shift to high demand is anticipated starting Saturday. Cold weather systems are projected to bring temperatures into the single digits and 20s through Tuesday, potentially strengthening demand for natural gas.
