Jonathan Snare has joined the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission (OSHRC) after being sworn in on November 3, 2025, to serve as a Commissioner.

Jonathan Snare has joined the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission (OSHRC) after being sworn in on November 3, 2025, to serve as a Commissioner. His nomination by President Donald J. Trump was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on October 7, 2025.

Prior to his OSHRC appointment, Mr. Snare was appointed as Acting Solicitor/Deputy Solicitor of Labor on February 24, 2025. Before that, he was a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP in the labor/employment practice group from 2009 to 2024 where his practice largely focused on workplace safety and health matters. Mr. Snare also served in several roles at the Department of Labor between 2003-2009, including Acting Assistant Secretary for OSHA and Deputy Assistant Secretary, as well as Deputy Solicitor of Labor and Acting Solicitor of Labor in 2007. Prior to joining the Labor Department, he was in private law practice in Dallas, Texas. A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Mr. Snare earned his law degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia.

Upon being sworn in, Commissioner Snare said, "I am honored to be nominated by the President and confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as a Commissioner at the Occupational Safety & Health Review Commission. I look forward to working with the Commission's dedicated staff to advance the important mission of the Commission to adjudicate and resolve contested citations, and to provide clarity for employers, employees, and stakeholders of their rights and responsibilities under the Occupational Safety and Health Act."
