The Frederick Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with a residential burglary and shots fired incident that occurred on October 29 in the 100 block of E South Street.
On October 29 at approximately 10:25 p.m., officers were dispatched after multiple callers reported a residential burglary in progress with shots fired heard in the area. An officer in the vicinity heard the gunfire and responded immediately. Several individuals were seen fleeing the scene.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified a suspect connected to the shots fired.
On December 10, 2025, officers of the Frederick Police Department Special Response Team and Major Crimes Team served a search and seizure warrant at a residence in the 100 block of E South Street. Upon serving the search warrant, detectives arrested Melville Bryson Moore Jr, (DOB 11/14/76) for his role in the October 29 incident. Moore was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center and charged with First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Possession of a Firearm After Felony Conviction and several additional firearm related offenses.
Detectives recovered a firearm at the residence during the search. Moore is being held without bond.
