On June 9, the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) Roadshow was held at the Canterbury Club in Christchurch. Chinese Consul General He Ying, Chair of the China Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand Hu Beihai, and over 30 representatives from the local business community-including the Christchurch Business Club, the New Zealand China Trade Association (NZCTA), and the Canton Chamber of Commerce-attended the event.
In her remarks, Consul General He highlighted the deepening economic and trade cooperation between China and New Zealand, which continues to inject strong momentum into the bilateral relationship. She emphasized that the CIIE serves as a key platform for China's high-level opening-up, offering global businesses opportunities for growth and partnership. She encouraged more New Zealand enterprises to actively participate in the Expo to explore the Chinese market and achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
Speeches were also delivered by Hu Beihai; Qaisar Rashid, President of Christchurch Business Club; Michelle MacWilliam, Executive Member of NZCTA; and Huang Zhenping, President of the Canton Chamber of Commerce (South Island). They underscored the significance of China-New Zealand trade ties and urged more local businesses to take part in the CIIE.
The roadshow featured presentations on exhibition zones, participation procedures, and supporting financial services, aiming to provide comprehensive support for prospective exhibitors.
