Rep. Bell Announces FY 2026 Community Project Funding Requests Forms

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Congressman Wesley Bell unveiled the application for Community Project Funding (CPF) requests for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 appropriations process.

"The Community Project Funding program empowers Members of Congress to bring federal resources directly to community-driven initiatives," said Representative Bell. "Instead of forcing local projects to compete nationally against larger states, CPF ensures our communities here in the district can secure the funding necessary to strengthen infrastructure, enhance research, and invest in a better future."

Community Project Funding requests provide an opportunity for Members of Congress to pursue funding for specific local projects that meet certain requirements:

  • Community Support - Only projects with evidenced and demonstrated community support, such as letters of support, will be considered.
  • Financial Disclosure Statement - Members and their immediate family are prohibited from having a financial interest in the proposed project.
  • Federal Nexus - In order to ensure a federal nexus exists for each funded project, the Committee will only fund projects that are tied to a federal authorization law. Requests must include a written statement describing the federal nexus for each Community Project Funding request.
  • Maximum of 15 requests - Members of Congress may request no more than 15 CPF requests across all eligible accounts.

Applicants must demonstrate the merits of their projects by completing this form. In addition, applicants must submit a demonstration of community support.

As you may know, Community Project Funding requests from Fiscal Year 2024 were not included in the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act of 2025. If you submitted a request for Community Funding last fiscal year, we ask that you reevaluate community needs and resubmit projects if they remain relevant.

Please be advised that this form is preliminary and does not include subcommittee guidance from the Appropriations Committee. Upon release of FY2026 guidance from the Appropriations Committee, our office will ask applicants for additional information and provide an updated form.

The submission deadline will be announced after the Appropriations Committee releases its deadlines.
