Anchorage, Alaska - The State of Alaska and the Municipality of Anchorage are coordinating sheltering operations in Anchorage for residents displaced by the recent Western Alaska coastal storms.
The American Red Cross is leading shelter operations management with the support of other Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster in coordination with the State Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and the Municipality of Anchorage Office of Emergency Management (OEM).
Residents from the impacted communities who have been self-evacuated are eligible to receive services regardless of where they are currently sheltered. All survivors of the 2025 October West Coast Storms should register in the State of Alaska Individual Assistance program at https://ready.alaska.gov/IA . Evacuees with immediate needs are encouraged tocontact the American Red Cross at 1-800-RED-CROS (733-2767) to connect with service.
