Congressman Langworthy Announces Nearly $1.4 Million for Schuyler Head Start to Expand Early Childhood Education

Washington, D.C.-July 29, 2026… Congressman Nick Langworthy today announced that Schuyler Head Start, Inc. has been awarded a $1,373,892 federal grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to support Head Start services for children and families in Schuyler County.

The funding, awarded through the Head Start Projects program, will help provide high-quality early childhood education, health services, nutrition, and family support programs that prepare young children for success in school and beyond.

"Investing in our children is one of the best investments we can make in the future of our communities," said Congressman Langworthy. "Head Start has long played a vital role in our rural communities, helping children build the skills they need to succeed while giving families access to educational, health, and support services that set them up for long-term success. I'm proud to announce this nearly $1.4 million investment for Schuyler Head Start and will continue working to ensure that this program continues to receive the federal resources it needs to serve families across Western New York and the Southern Tier."

The $1,373,892 award will support Schuyler Head Start's ongoing efforts to provide comprehensive early childhood education and family services, helping children develop the academic, social, and emotional foundations necessary to thrive in the classroom.
