On January 14, 2025, at approximately 7:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a 911 call regarding an assault on a transit bus.
General Patrol officers from the Central District arrived at Osborne/Bartlett, where a transit bus was stopped, and personnel were holding a male suspect.
Information was relayed that the male passenger who was the only passenger left on the bus had been behaving erratically - swearing, clenching his fists, and ringing the bell without getting off the bus. The driver summoned assistance, stopped the bus and a transit supervisor with another employee boarded the bus. The driver summoned assistance and stopped the bus. A transit supervisor, along with another employee, boarded the bus and assisted.
Without provocation, the accused swung at the supervisor. He was restrained and escorted off the bus to wait for police. The victim was not injured.
Randy Clark PERKIN (21) of Winnipeg was charged with assault and detained in custody.
