Russell Library's Flooring Project

Russell Library's Flooring Project

Ina Dillard Russell Library Thursday September 11, 2025

Russell Library is excited to announce upcoming improvements that will enhance your study and research experience. Beginning Sept. 15, 2025, Russell Library will undergo flooring and carpet installation throughout the building.

What This Means for You:

  • Continuing Service: The library will remain open and operational throughout the project; however, it may be necessary to use alternative pathways to access spaces

  • Temporary Changes: Some study rooms and seating areas will be temporarily unavailable on a rolling basis

  • Collections Access: Library materials will remain accessible, though some items may be temporarily relocated

How We're Minimizing Disruption:

  • Work will be completed in phases to keep as much of the library operational as possible

  • Our staff will be available to assist you in finding alternative study spaces and accessing materials

  • Stay Informed: We have created a dedicated project information page at https://libguides.gcsu.edu/flooring-project where you can find current project status and timelines, plus available study spaces and room closures

Contact information for assistance:

  • Need Help? Our library staff is here to assist you during this transition. For immediate help:

  • Text or Call: Ask a Librarian at 478-445-4047

  • Online: Visit https://libanswers.gcsu.edu/

  • In Person: Visit any service desk

We appreciate your patience as we work to improve Russell Library for the entire GCSU community. These enhancements will provide a more comfortable and updated environment for your academic success. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
