TWIN FALLS-The Idaho Transportation Department will begin overnight paving on Kimberly Road Monday, Aug. 24. Paving is expected to take about five days.
ITD is scheduling the work at night to reduce impacts to traffic and nearby businesses. During the day, the current traffic pattern will remain in place. Kimberly Rd is down to a single lane in each direction.
"Kimberly Road is busy and packed full of some great businesses," Project Manager Cory Williams said. "By utilizing nighttime hours, we can get things done quickly and with less impact."
ITD will also upgrade the traffic signal at Blue Lakes Boulevard and Kimberly Road in October with new signal heads, detection system, pedestrian signal heads, a signal cabinet and a signal controller. All work will be completed around November. Construction began in June of this year.
Drivers should use caution in the work zone and plan for possible delays during overnight paving operations.
All work is weather dependent, and the schedule may change.
Drivers are encouraged to check 511 Idaho for the latest information on traffic impacts before traveling.
