WASHINGTON D.C. (November 6, 2024)- In response to the election of President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance, The Wilderness Society President David Seabrook made the following statement:
"We are undeterred. Conservation is an urgent, non-partisan issue and, together with our supporters and communities across the nation, we will continue to make a difference protecting land, air, water and wildlife for all people. We know that a primary objective of a Trump administration is drilling and mining federal public lands and waters and that our biggest accomplishments of the past four years are at risk.
January 2025 marks our 90th anniversary and 90 years of our steadfast progress in protecting America's wild places. We are coupling this vast experience with the preparation we have made from Trump's first term and our knowledge of the anti-conservation agenda set forth in Project 2025, and have a clear picture of what we are up against to be ready to fight."
