Weekend Lane Closures on I-75 in Clayton, Fulton for Resurfacing Project
Expect Heavy Traffic Delays
ATLANTA, GA - The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractors install lane closures on Interstate 75 (I-75) this weekend to continue a resurfacing project from the I-75/I-285 interchange in Clayton County to State Route 54/University Avenue (SR 54) in Fulton County. Resurfacing improves the roadway's deteriorating condition, preserving its lifecycle, eliminating holes and cracks, and providing a smoother ride for drivers.
During these closures, motorists are advised to choose alternate routes and/or allow additional travel time to their destinations.

Weather and on-site conditions permitting, these are the lane closures scheduled between Friday, June 13 and Monday, June 16:

9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday - resurfacing
  • Alternating right or left lanes closed near the I-75/I-85 interchange between Metropolitan Parkway and University Avenue
  • Four right lanes on I-75 southbound will be closed between University Avenue and Mt. Zion Boulevard
9 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday - resurfacing
  • Alternating right or left lanes closed near the I-75/I-85 interchange between Metropolitan Parkway and University Avenue
  • Four right lanes on I-75 southbound will be closed between University Avenue and Mt. Zion Boulevard
  • One left lane closed on I-75 northbound and southbound at CW Grant Parkway HOV entrance and exit ramps
This $46 M project is scheduled for completion for in summer 2025. Lane closures help ensure safety for workers and drivers.

Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through the work zone during the project work hours. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
