What: Detroit's Midtown neighborhood will have over 2,700 new residents, as Wayne State University welcomes students to its residence halls Aug. 20 - 24. Move-in is part of the university's annual kickoff to the new academic year for first-year and upperclassmen living on campus. More than 1,000 first-year, transfer and new-to-housing students will settle into their residence halls on Wednesday, Aug. 20, while upperclassmen and returning residents will move in between Thursday, Aug. 21 and Sunday, Aug. 24.
Reporters are welcome to interview students and their families as they move into residence halls and set up their new living spaces in the heart of Midtown. A Wayne State University representative will also be available for brief interviews about the exciting start of the fall semester.
When: Media are welcome to attend from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20.
Where: Media are invited to capture footage at Chatsworth Suites, located at 630 Williams Mall, Detroit MI 48202, at the center of campus and most accessible via Anthony Wayne Drive. Chatsworth Suites houses first-year students and is of one of Wayne State's four residence halls and two apartment buildings that students will call home this semester.
