Carroll County Route B bridge to close Nov. 17

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted E&C Bridge, LLC to complete a bridge deck replacement project on four bridges in Carroll, Chariton and Livingston counties. The Carroll County Route B bridge over Sambo Creek, south of Wakenda, is scheduled to close beginning Monday, Nov. 17.

Traffic Impacts: The Route B bridge is expected to be closed beginning Nov. 17 through mid-January 2026. Motorists will need to seek an alternate route around the closure.

Listed below are the other bridges included in this project that are currently closed:

  • Livingston County Route D bridge over the Shoal Creek Drainage Ditch, south of Ludlow. The bridge is expected to reopen in early December 2025.
  • Carroll County Route JJ bridge over West Fork Wakenda Creek, northwest of Norborne. The bridge is expected to reopen in mid-December 2025.

Listed below is the remaining bridge that is anticipated to close in Spring 2026:

  • Chariton County Route KK over the Little Chariton River, north of Glasgow.
