Crime Map and Updates

Welcome to our crime map. You can search by address, date range, case number, or specific crime type. The map includes serious felony crimes, vehicle prowls, thefts (except shoplifting), and arrests beginning in Nov. 2020. Click on icons for more detail. Addresses listed are rounded to the hundred block. For a complete list of case reports, visit olympiawa.gov/p2c.

Notable Trends

  • One arson reported that is still an open investigation.
  • The suspect was arrested for the aggravated assault reported this week after he strangled the victim. The case is tied to the open arson investigation.
  • Three commercial burglaries reported with arrests in two of the cases. In one arrest, the suspect returned to a business previously trespassed from and stole again. In the other arrest, the suspect disabled power to a fence, pushed it open and then cut a lock to a storage garage, stealing chainsaws, work clothing, a hard hat and other supplies. An officer saw him later wearing the business branded hard hat and sweatshirt and carrying a chainsaw.
  • One robbery reported. Two suspects stole meat from a grocery store. One elbowed an employee trying to stop the shoplift and then punched a different employee who also tried to stop them.
  • One rape reported that is an open investigation. The victim knew the suspect.

Other Items

  • Officers responded to 991 calls for service this week.
  • No update next week, I'll be out of the office at a conference. I will double up the following week.
  • This week is Teen Driver Safety Week. Talk to your teens about safe driving and model the behavior you expect from them. Establish clear house rules around speeding, seatbelts, distracted driving and driving under the influence. We want everyone to get home safely!
  • This week's photo is in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. You may see officers with pink badges or OPD members with pink hair, clothing, hats or pins to help spread awareness and honor those impacted by breast cancer.
