RELEASE: Senator Mullin Votes to Make Health Care Affordable Again, Blasts Democrats for Prioritizing Insurance Companies Over Patients

Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, voted yes on the Health Care Freedom for Patients Act to make healthcare affordable again and put American patients first.

"Obamacare completely broke our health care system. Today, Senate Republicans offered a common-sense solution to get us back on track. The Health Care Freedom for Patients Act would have lowered premiums, put money back in patients' pockets, and ensured taxpayer dollars are not used for abortions or transgender surgeries," said Senator Mullin. "Instead of delivering relief to the American people, the Democrats blocked our plan. They'd rather focus on extending Obamacare COVID-era subsidies for a broken program and send $26 billion to insurance companies. Insanity."
