City Hall Renovation to Begin in January; Meetings Temporarily Relocated

In January, Garling Construction, Inc. will begin renovation work at Marion City Hall, 1225 6th Avenue. This project is a strategic reorganization of departmental services to improve both public access and employee safety.
Upon completion, the Community Development Department (Planning & Building Divisions) and IT Department will move to the first floor, with the City Manager's Office, Finance and Human Resources departments moving to the second floor.
During the initial phase, all departments are located on the second floor.
The renovation project includes updates to the City Council Chambers, where several public meetings are typically held. During this time, meetings of the City Council, Planning & Zoning Commission and Zoning Board of Adjustment will be temporarily moved to the Linn-Mar Educational Leadership Center, located at 3556 Winslow Road.
If additional meetings are affected, updated locations will be listed on the meeting agenda. Agendas, minutes and video recordings remain available on the City's meeting portal.
Project completion is anticipated in Spring 2026.
