City and local organizations provide services for people in need

If you know someone in need of food or social services, the City is reminding residents about local organizations that provide these services for individuals and families in need.

In Mission Viejo, free groceries are available for seniors through the Senior Grocery Program at the Norman P. Murray Community Center from 8-9 am every Friday. Seniors can bring two reusable grocery bags to fill with perishable and nonperishable items such as meat, dairy, fresh produce, and canned goods. For more information, visit the Senior Programs and Services webpage.

There are numerous food pantries surrounding Mission Viejo including Mercy Warehouse in Laguna Niguel, South Orange Outreach in Lake Forest, Family Assistance Ministries in San Clemente, Community Table and Pantry in Rancho Santa Margarita and more. The City has compiled a full list of local food pantries.

For folks experiencing a housing crisis, four local organizations in Irvine can provide guidance and support - Families Forward, Family Assistance Ministries, South County Outreach and Serving People in Need (SPIN).
