Sanders Appoints David Peacock to the Arkansas State Board of Education

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders today announced that she has appointed David Peacock to serve on the Arkansas State Board of Education. Peacock, whose term will expire on June 30, 2032, is replacing Dr. Sarah Moore.

"After faithfully serving in the United States Marine Corps for over a decade, David quickly became one of our state's top business leaders - something that gives him the expertise we need to make sure every Arkansas student graduates ready to enroll, enlist, or become employed," said Governor Sanders. "He's passionate about workforce readiness, literacy programs, and education freedom, and I know he'll be an incredible asset on our State Board of Education. With leaders like David helping implement the reforms we've brought about over the past two-and-a-half years, I know our school system will only continue to improve. I'd also like to thank Dr. Moore for her years of support and for her help in implementing Arkansas LEARNS. Because of her hard work and dedication, the future for Arkansas' students is brighter than ever."

"I'm honored and humbled to be appointed by Governor Sanders to serve on the State Board of Education," said David Peacock. "Education has opened countless doors in my own life, and it's a privilege to now help create those same opportunities for children across Arkansas. Partnering with parents and communities to prepare our students for the many paths ahead is both essential and inspiring. I look forward to working alongside the Governor, my fellow board members, communities and families across the state to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed and thrive."
