City of Pasadena and Innovate Pasadena Announce LA Tech Week in Pasadena

Pasadena, CA - The City of Pasadena Economic Development Division and Innovate Pasadena will host a series of events October 13-16 as part of LA Tech Week, bringing entrepreneurs, investors, technology companies, research institutions, and community leaders together to showcase Pasadena's innovation ecosystem.

This marks the second consecutive year the City and Innovate Pasadena have hosted a Pasadena event series as part of LA Tech Week, the weeklong celebration of technology and entrepreneurship that brings together thousands of participants at events across Los Angeles. The Pasadena program provides an opportunity to put the city's companies, institutions, and innovation community in front of the broader regional technology audience, including founders, investors, and other business decision-makers.

"Pasadena has an extraordinary concentration of companies, research institutions, entrepreneurs, and talent working on some of the most important technologies of the future," said Economic Development Director David Klug. "LA Tech Week gives us an opportunity to bring that story to a larger audience while creating connections that can lead to new investment, partnerships, and business opportunities for Pasadena."

"Innovate Pasadena has a long history of collaboration and bringing diverse audiences together through dynamic events and entrepreneur led programs." said Innovate Pasadena President Mike Giardello. "We are excited to partner with LA Tech Week and showcase Pasadena's innovation assets from world-class institutions to impactful start-ups in healthcare, AI, space-tech, robotics, quantum computing, and more."

The Pasadena program builds on the city's broader efforts to strengthen the local innovation ecosystem and advance Pasadena's position as a hub for deep technology, life sciences, climate innovation, aerospace, and entrepreneurship.

The program will feature six events throughout the week:

• Tuesday, October 13 at 12 p.m. - The Healthcare Executive AI Agenda: What Leaders Are Doing Now:Healthcare executives will discuss how organizations are using artificial intelligence today and what leaders are considering as the technology continues to evolve.
• Tuesday, October 13 at 5 p.m. - Pasadena Startup Pitch Competition: Emerging startups will pitch their companies and ideas to investors, entrepreneurs, and members of the Pasadena innovation community.
• Wednesday, October 14 at 6 p.m. - Pasadena Climate Commons: The Water-Energy Nexus: Experts will examine the connection between water and energy and highlight climate technologies being developed in Pasadena and across the region.
• Thursday, October 15 at 6 p.m. - Pasadena Tech Happy Hour: The monthly Pasadena Tech Happy Hour will bring the local technology and innovation community together. Last year's LA Tech Week event drew more than 200 attendees.
• Friday, October 16 at 12 p.m. - SpaceTech Showcase: The showcase will bring together leaders in aerospace and emerging space technology to discuss the infrastructure and commercialization of space and the companies advancing the industry.
• Friday, October 16 at 4 p.m. - Pasadena Ascends VIP Closing Reception: A closing reception at Wedbush bringing together participants, sponsors, partners, and business and community leaders to celebrate LA Tech Week in Pasadena.
